Nerdy Songs and Raising Money For Nerds To Help People Who May or May Not Be Nerds

Monday, December 18th, 2006

At my last show I mentioned that all the money collected would go to our local Chicago chapter of Engineers Without Borders. It worked great. Now I can finally afford that Playstation 3. I’m just kidding. I’m getting a Wii.

Really, though, about $200 was raised so that EWB can do its thing. The website is all linked up there if you want to read more about it. That 200 dollars will pay for a year’s worth of clean drinking water for a village. Except I made that up… but it’s probably not that far off. So, thanks everyone.
Now that that’s taken care of, I’ve really got to stop writing songs that mention math and/or computers. Before I had to put myself on a break-up song moratorium, but now I think I need to take a break with the engineering tunes. Too bad, I had a good one brewing about the guy who invented TV. Oh well.

I usually hate posting live songs because, well, I think they sound like crap — not so much the recording, but my grating, out-of-tune vocal stylings — but I had so much fun at the last show I figured I’d post this song:

Natasha’s dad even made a video of it, which you can view on myspace. Either there’s some sort of spotlight effect or it was videotaped through the scope of a sniper rifle. I guess they missed because I’M STILL HERE!!! Umm. Happy New Year?
