Sunday, December 16th, 2007Hey Austin!
Sunday, December 16th, 2007LYRICS
Where are we going Austin, we’ve been riding for so long.
My legs are tired, Austin, I don’t think I can go on.
For so long now I’ve looked up to you, Austin,
So I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do:
Anything you ask me to.
Let’s turn back soon, Austin, ’cause it’s starting to get dark
I’ve never been this way before and my curfew’s 8 o’clock
I tell everyone you’re my best friend, Austin,
I wish that you would do the same for me.
Can we pull over ’cause I gotta pee.
Hey Austin, why you going so fast?
These legs aren’t gonna last.
Hey Austin, don’t get too far ahead
Are you trying to leave me for dead
Hey Austin, I wish I was you.
You say that we’re friend’s, Austin, when it’s just me and you.
But why do you always turn your back on me when we’re in school?
Well, everyone thinks you’re the best now, Austin,
I’ve never said, “no” to you.
All I ask is that you make me cool.
Hey Austin, where’d you get those new shoes?
Can I have some of that Baby Ruth?
Hey Austin, why are you talking to them?
Have you gone and made some new friends?
Hey Austin, I wish I was you.

That Dam Dog
Friday, December 7th, 2007I got the idea for this song after visiting the Hoover Dam and seeing a little plaque dedicated to a dog. I learned that the plaque was there to honor the Hoover Dam mascot, a dog who lived and “worked” at the dam during its construction.
Here’s the official story if anyone is interested.
